Lacy’s professional work as an occupational therapist has spanned all age groups and populations, with most of her career spent working with adults in acute care, subacute rehab, and outpatient clinics. She now specializes in maternal and pelvic health, with certifications in pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise and perinatal mental health. Lacy owns a private OT practice serving women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She is passionate about empowering students with the knowledge and clinical practice skills to provide holistic, individualized care to clients of all ages.
Research:
Lacy completed her doctoral capstone on bridging the gap in maternal healthcare by integrating OT with midwifery care. Her research interests include:
- patient education and health literacy
- maternal coping and stress management
- postpartum recovery
- interprofessional collaboration in adult physical rehabilitation
- post-surgical care

Lacy is a lifelong learner and women’s health advocate. More than anything, she values time with her husband, Matthew, two sons, and two dogs. In her free time, Lacy enjoys listening to podcasts and learning about topics like natural medicine, holistic healthcare, and psychology. She lives an active life outdoors mountain biking, gardening, and spending time on the Shenandoah River.
